The Area, Marche Italy Map & Directions
Our Holiday Homes are situated in the Sibillini area in the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains. Ideal places for long walks far away from civilization. Next to that there are many villages and cities of artistic and cultural importance in easy reach, like San Ginesio, Sarnano, Tolentino, San Severino and Camerino. At Macerata you can visit the Arena Sferisterio where music concerts, operas, and ballets are performed by Italian and foreign artists of international fame. Also Macerata's shoe marked on Wednesdays is worth visiting. In half an hour you can reach the Adriatic sea with it's beautiful beaches. In the hills along the coast you can take a walk at the Park of the Conero. The cities Assisi, Gubbio and Perugia are about two hours of distance by car. A visit to the holy city Loreto is absolutely worth a while. For a sensation of the miracles of nature you can't miss to see Castalluccio di Norcia (a plateau with thousands of flowers in all the colours of the rainbow) and the stalactitic caves of Frassasi. Also by foot or by mountain bike you can reach places of fascinating beauty.
By Car
At the Autostrada Adriatica A14 direction Bari/Pescara take the exit Civitanova Marche. Then take the Superstrada SS77 direction Macerata-Foligno. Take the exit Tolentino Ovest for the directions San Severino, Serrapetrona, Tolentino. Take the exit Belforte del Chienti for the directions: Belforte, Camporotondo, San Ginesio.
Coming from Rome on the grande raccordo annulare (GRA) of Rome take exit Firenze. Roma-Firenze A1 take exit Orte. After having payed the toll turn right direction Spoleto, SS 675 direction Terni. After that direction Foligno-Macerata (Strada Statale 77 of Colfiorito-direction Macerata).
By Train
The nearest big railway station is at Civitanova Marche. There's a direct train connection Milan-Civitanova Marche. From Civitanova Marche you can take the train to Tolentino, San Severino and Fabriano. Look for the timetable at the website: www.trenitalia.it.
By Air
A cheap way to fly is from London to Ancona Falconara with Ryanair. It takes 1 hour to reach the Sibillini Area from Ancona Airport. Ancona Airport has national and international flights from Rome, Milan, München, Paris etc. You can rent a car and pick it up at the Ancona-Airport. There're cheap flights also on Rome and Milan. The airport of Rome is about three hours driving from the Sibillini Area. You can also fly on Bologna, Rimini or Forli. About 2 hours driving from the Sibillini Area.
